Europe wants 80% of adults to have at least basic digital skills by 2030.

Today we are at 56%.

FURIM Institutt hosted the Norwegian edition of the DCE Prompt-a-thon in Oslo. Four days, three countries, one question: how do adult educators actually close that gap?

"Digital Citizenship Education, Learn, Connect, Engage, Thrive" is an Erasmus+ KA220-ADU cooperation partnership between Bulgaria, Italy and Norway. Each partner hosts one Prompt-a-thon built on one pillar of the project. Oslo got the "C".

Connect means bridging generations, communities and countries through inclusive digital participation. So that is what the room worked on.

What happened over the four days:

▸ Hands-on sessions with ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Excalidraw, applied to real challenges participants brought from their own organisations

▸ Design thinking sprints using the Design, Play, Change methodology

▸ Prototyping and testing of AI-based solutions for adult learning

▸ Final presentations, feedback, and a self-assessment of digital and ethical competences

Everything produced in Oslo feeds into the project's open outputs: a co-creative handbook for running Prompt-a-thons, an AI training module for adult education, and a practical guide to the ethical use of AI, all published as open educational resources.
