7th of November 2024 Furim Institute attended IMDi's (Norway's Directorate of Integration and Diversity) annual conference in Oslo together with hundreds of stakeholders involved in integration and diversity efforts in Norway. The conference focused on "Integration in Norway – Where Are We Heading?" and served as a platform to discuss ongoing integration challenges, policies, and future strategies in Norway. Topics included employment access for immigrants, combating youth crime, fostering inclusivity, and integration’s impact on local communities.

The event gathered government officials, researchers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to examine Norway’s progress in integration and share insights on advancing inclusive policies. This conference also included international perspectives, such as lessons from Sweden, and discussions on broader issues impacting integration across Europe.

A recurring recognition was the need for stronger collaboration between the various agencies to handle the complexity required for successful integration and increased participation in the labor market. This is precisely what the HEIDI project aims to facilitate, and we are more motivated than ever to deliver the much-needed tools to help immigrants and their host communities succeed.
