Project Overview
Advancing Athlete Employability through Career Mentorship and Education
Background
In the EU, the number of athletes in need of dual career (DC) services adds up to more than 120.000 in every Olympic cycle. However, a large number of its member states (MS) have not or only partially been able to implement such services. Elite athletes have outstanding potential to become successful individuals. Many athletes have many career options. They want to use their skills, networks, and profiles to start their own business or to get a profession during or after their sporting career. However, due to their busy schedules, they often miss out on specific education or personal development programs.
Objectives
The overall objective of the project is to prepare and integrate the labor market through the assessment and development of the qualifications of elite athletes and to support the implementation of the EU Guidelines on Dual Careers of Athletes.
